The Kitchen Process

With the kitchen being such a high activity area of the house it is worth finding out how to accurately design a kitchen. Here at Central Plumbing and Heating, we have the expertise to help walk you through the process and design a kitchen that fits your unique needs.

STEP ONE: Brainstorming: How do you want to utilize your kitchen?

How do you want to prepare and cook food? How do you want to clear up afterwards? How do you want to entertain? What appliances and fixtures will you need to carry out these activities? What are the must haves, what are the nice to haves? What other activities will happen in your kitchen apart from those related to food? How do you want seating? If you want an open floor plan that leads to a dining space or living space what kind of view do the people in these areas get of the kitchen? These are all important questions to answer before visiting Central Plumbing and Heating for your appointment.

STEP TWO: Schedule an Appointment and Visit our Showroom

We ask that you schedule an appointment with us at a time that works for you in order to guarantee one on one time with you and a designer. During this 60 minute consultation in our new showroom, your project ideas, design vision, and budget will be discussed. Please come with measurements of your kitchen space, product preferences, and a reasonable timeline in mind.

STEP THREE: Plan the Outline of Your Kitchen

At Central Plumbing and Heating, we can assist in the outline of where you will place the base cabinets, wall cabinets, islands and tables in your kitchen plan. If you have a bigger room to work with one of the main things to decide is whether the kitchen will occupy the whole room with an eating area open to the kitchen, or whether you want to try and maintain a bit of privacy to the cooking area – make it a bit like a bar or a coffee shop counter.

STEP FOUR: Research your appliances and fixtures

The next step in building your ideal kitchen is picking out your appliances and hardware. It is important to test drive the latest appliances to make sure they fit your needs. At Central Plumbing and Heating, we offer many kitchen necessities such as sinks, faucets, garbage disposables, soap dispensers, etc. Our experienced staff will assist you in selecting cabinets, countertops, and knobs. Some of our most popular brands include, Blanco for sinks, Starmark Cabinetry, and Cambria which offers quartz countertops. Even though we do not focus on larger kitchen appliances (ovens, stoves, fridges, dishwashers) we can still make recommendations of stores to visit that can help you find the products that would work best for you.

STEP FIVE: Placing your Order

After your meeting with one of our sales representatives, they will work on creating a price quote for you including all the products you discussed. The next step is to place your order for your kitchen hardware, cabinets, and countertops. Although some items may be in stock and ready to go home with you after your first meeting. As soon as your ordered products have arrived you will receive a phone call from us to either come pick up your hardware or schedule a delivery to your residence.

STEP 6: Assembling your Kitchen

Even though Central Plumbing and Heating is a supply house we do have contacts for many contractors that come highly recommended by us. So if you do not have an installer feel free to ask for suggestions, we are happy to give them!
